The association has as a non-profit objective to provide support to the parish in general and to promote social and cultural activities within the parish Set up and operate meeting centres, possibly with consumption facilities, with or without payment. Rent, lease, hire and prepare movable or immovable property. Promote community life and preserve the identity of the sub-municipality of Sint-Margriete Houtem. Summarise and establish necessary and currently missing associations; establish and operate magazines, various publications and pamphlets. Obtain input and provide advice to the competent authorities for the sub-municipality of Sint-Margriete-Houtem.
